Alberto Zobelli graduated in physics from the Padua University (Italy) and obtained a joined Ph.D in Physics between the Paris-Sud University and the Technische Universitat Dresden (Germany). After a post-doctoral permanence at the theoretical spectroscopy group of the Ecole Polytechnique, he became Maître de Conférences at the Paris-Saclay University. His research focuses mainly on the structure, dynamics and optical properties of defects in nanostructured materials with a particular interest in layered materials and multiferroic heterostructures for spintronics. These studies are conducted using a complementary experimental and theoretical approach which combines in a mutual interfeeding electron microscopy and spectroscopies (EELS, CL) with density functional based computational techniques.
