• Electron microscopy, instrumentation and interpretation of images
• Analytical Electron Microscopy and Nanoanalysis
• Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (experiment and theory),
• Core-edge analysis, interpretation of fine structures, image-spectrum and line-spectrum acquisition, spatially resolved spectroscopy
• Applications to nanostructures and nanomaterials (carbon and composite nanotubes, nanowires, metallic and semiconducting nanoparticles...), interfaces, multilayers, clusters, solid state chemistry, biomolecules...

Publications

More than 320 papers in refereed journals, 180 publications in Conference Proceedings, 25 chapters of books and one full book (La Microscopie Electronique, Collection "Que sais-je?", PUF (1998), now translated in German, Elektronen-mikroskopie, WVG Stuttgart (2008)), more than 150 invited lectures over the past ten years, organizer of about 30 national or international conferences, workshops and schools (in particular an Euro Summer School in Cargese, France, for two weeks and 100 participants in May 2000).
